Orphans in Gaza

Orphans in Gaza suffer from extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, which worsen as crises and repeated wars continue, leaving deep scars on society, especially on children. Thousands of children have lost one or both parents as a result of aggression or harsh living conditions, making them the most vulnerable group most in need of care and support.

These children face daily challenges, starting with securing the most basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing, and shelter, amid high poverty rates and widespread unemployment. Extended families are often forced to bear the responsibility of caring for these orphans despite their limited resources, which increases economic burdens and affects the quality of life for everyone.

The suffering of orphans in Gaza is not limited to the material aspect alone but extends to the psychological and social dimensions. Losing a father or mother leaves a deep impact on a child's psyche, as many suffer from feelings of sadness, fear, and anxiety, and may face difficulties in social integration or academic achievement. Constant exposure to traumatic events also increases the likelihood of psychological disorders requiring specialized care.

In the education sector, orphans face additional challenges, such as the inability to provide school supplies or attend school regularly. In some cases, children are forced to drop out of school and work at an early age to help their families, denying them their right to education and affecting their future.

Furthermore, institutions and associations concerned with orphan care suffer from a severe shortage of resources and funding, especially amid the growing number of those in need. Despite the significant efforts these organizations make to provide food, educational, and psychological support, the scale of needs far exceeds the available resources.

Improving the conditions of orphans in Gaza requires the combined efforts of local and international actors, working to provide comprehensive programs that include financial support, psychological care, and sustainable education. Orphans are not merely numbers; they are human potential that needs a genuine opportunity for a dignified life. Investing in them is an investment in the future of society as a whole, and giving them hope is the first step toward building a generation capable of overcoming hardships and creating a better reality.
